In India, a hard-hitting, seam-bowling all-rounder is an uncommon find. Manoj Bhandage, though, is a highly promising potential for Karnataka. He has played for his state in 16 T20 matches so far, but his strike rate of 154.66 attests to his uncanny ability to go over the fence.

Given that he bowls right-handed and bats left-handed, Bhandage also presents a special ambidextrous combo. He is highly regarded by insiders and may be a potential finisher.

Before the IPL 2023 auction, franchisees need to take him seriously in order to offer additional cover for their all-rounders, who bat in the middle order or lower middle order.

Ten days into the current Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022–23, Tamil Nadu’s Narayan Jagadeesan has transformed into one of the most recognizable names in domestic cricket in India. He began the competition as a potential wicketkeeper-batter.

The 26-year-old has shut down all challengers who have come his way, becoming the first batter in history to record five straight List-A hundreds. Additionally, he scored 277 runs off 141 deliveries against Arunachal Pradesh, a mind-blowing performance.

The star batsman was dismissed by Chennai Super Kings prior to the IPL 2023 auction since his performances in the 15th IPL season left something to be desired. He scored 40 runs in two games with a strike rate of 108.11 and was discharged before the auction.

However, given that Jagadeesan has recently been in excellent shape, he may make the upcoming T20 bonanza his own. As a result, it’s possible that numerous franchises will be anxious to sign the Coimbatore native in the next auction.

Murugan Ashwin

The Tamil Nadu leg spinner was let go by the Mumbai Indians team ahead of the IPL 2023 Mini auction. He was drafted by the Rohit Sharma-led side for 1.6 Cr at the IPL 2022 Mega auction.

Ashwin has a track record of success in the T20 league. In the shortest format, the 32-year-old has played in 96 games and has taken 94 wickets for an economy of 7.28. He performed admirably in the IPL too, claiming 35 wickets in 42 games with an economy of 7.87.

The individual, who is from Chennai, is cunning and can confuse batters with his variations. Because Ashwin can bowl during the powerplay, his captain has more alternatives on the field. In order to select the leg-spinner during the auction, the franchises might thus increase their paddle.

Vidwath Kaverappa

Vidwath Kaverappa has been a revelation at a time when Karnataka’s fast-bowling team is going through a period of change. The right-arm seamer, who is 23 years old, can swing the ball and boasts a joyful habit of taking wickets.

With 18 wickets in eight T20 games and an economy rate of 6.36, his T20 stats are impressive. He also picked up 17 wickets in the recently finished Vijay Hazare Trophy. Due to the presence of premium medium pacers in all teams, opportunities for playing time may be difficult to come by; nonetheless, Kaverappa should be seen as a backup option by the franchises in the IPL 2023 auction.

Rohan Kunnummal

The gifted opener from Kerala has been having a very strong season. In 2022, Kunnummal scored runs for enjoyment across all formats. His accomplishments throughout a formative period of his first-class career also won him an India summon for the Bangladesh visit.

Although the 24-year-strike-old’s rate in 19 T20 matches was only 119.32, it increased to 134 in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He is undoubtedly a player of the future, and franchises would be wise to acquire him in the IPL 2023 auction.

They may prepare Kunnummal for a lengthier relationship with the team in addition to developing him as their main Indian batter’s backup.
