The IPL 2023 is expected to be a riveting contest as this time BCCI is set to introduce home & away venues for the championship. The dates of the IPL are yet to be revealed but according to reports, the tournament is set to begin on 1st April and end on 31st May as England’s home season is set to commence from 1st June.

This season is considered to be the last one of the Legendary MS Dhoni as he had said that he would bid adieu to the game of cricket after playing in front of his home ground. It would be interesting to see how the workload of Indian  players  would be managed as India is expected to play the final of the World Test Championship Cycle (WTC 2021-23).

“Injury management and workload management are two different things, we have to keep balancing the two based on what the priority is for us in the short term considering the amount of cricket we play and ensuring that we have our big players available for us in the big tournaments.” he added.

Rahul Dravid on IPL & NCA

Rahul Dravid was asked how the NCA & IPL will work together. “In terms of the IPL, the NCA and our medical team is constantly in touch with the franchises, and if there are any issues or injuries we connect with them. Unless the players are injured or there are other concerns then of course I think the BCCI has the right to pull them out.” said Rahul Dravid.

“But if they are fit we do release them for the IPL because it’s an important tournament. It is a very big tournament for the BCCI, in terms of our preparation for the 2024 T20 World Cup as well. It is important as it helps us assist the performances of our players in the specific T20 format.” he added.
