Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter, Litton Das, for a base price of Rs 50 lakh in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction held in Kochi on Friday, December 23. Litton Das believes that playing in the IPL helps him cope with pressure better and become a better player.

The 28-year-old is the second Bangladesh player after Shakib Al Hasan to sign an IPL contract. Litton Das had a fantastic year in 2022 and scored 1921 runs in 42 matches and 50 innings, becoming the second-highest run-scorer in international cricket after Babar Azam. Litton led Bangladesh to a historic One-Day International series win over India earlier this month.

IPL Will Help Me Better My Game And Boost My Mental Strength – Litton Das

Speaking to Sportstar, Litton Das stated that he is excited to share the dressing room with some of the game’s greats. Das, who has been one of Bangladesh’s most consistent batsmen across all formats, gained a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) despite initially going unsold in the IPL auction last week.

“IPL is a huge platform and you get to play in high-intensity games. Sharing the dressing room with some of the big names in world cricket will help me immensely because the more you get to know them, the better it is for you to pick their brains and learn a thing or two. Once you interact with them, it will help me better my game and boost my mental strength.”

The right-handed batsman scored 125 runs in five innings at an average of 25.40 and a strike rate of 142.69 in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in Australia. He scored a brilliant 60 off 27 balls against India, nearly helping his team win the match.

We Plan To Start 2023 On Good Note – Litton Das

Das stated that they hope to rectify their wrongs with a home series against England and a tour of Ireland in 2023. He said, “Our dream is to grow as a team and fix the weak links, but I think that 2022 hasn’t been bad for us. We plan to start 2023 on a good note as it’s another action-packed year and I would not want to think too much about planning as it varies from series to series. We start the year with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), then we have series against England and Ireland, so there’s a lot to play for and we hope to play to our strengths.”
