“Whatever it takes to get Ben Stokes, do it. He is a major gaming player. As we witnessed in the World Cup final, he can summon the calmer, cooler version of himself whenever he needs to. He is free to take the new ball. It is simply a whole bundle. What is available for spending?” Morgan said.

Stokes drew attention from Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Lucknow Super Giants, who quickly raised the price to over Rs 10 crore. Late bidder Chennai Super Kings purchased the Stokes for Rs. 16.25 crore, which is tied for the third-highest price ever paid at an IPL auction.
