Aakash Chopra, a former Indian opener, believes that all-rounder Sam Curran would be purchased by either the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) or the Punjab Kings (PBKS) during the IPL 2023 auction, which will take place on Friday.
Curran played for both of the aforementioned organizations, who will be eager to add the all-rounder to their ranks even if he was absent during the 2022 IPL season.
Additionally, he has been in outstanding form, taking home the T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament award. Aakash Chopra outlined Curran’s options in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
“Only two teams can really offer that much for Sam Curran: Hyderabad and Punjab. He is not required in Hyderabad. So I believe he can become a ‘King’ by studying either PBKS or CSK. Because of their large budget, he has a better chance of going to Punjab” Aakash Chopra said.
“Curran will be the costliest player in the auction”: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra also asserted that Sam Curran might surpass the INR 16.25 crore that the Rajasthan Royals spent for Chris Morris in 2021 as the most expensive player ever purchased at auction.
Chopra thinks Curran has the potential to win games with both the bat and the ball.
The TATA IPL 2023 is anticipated to begin on Sunday, March 26, 2023, and go through Sunday, May 28, 2023.
