IPL 2023 Auction is all set to take place on 23rd December (Friday) where we can expect a lot of surprises. BCCI has announced that they are going to bring back the home & away venue for the tourney. The 4-time IPL Winners CSK  had a dreadful 2022 season where they finished in 9th position.

The upcoming edition is expected to be the last one of Legendary Captain MS Dhoni as he had said that he would like to play in front of his home crowd before retiring. CSK will have to find a replacement for Dwayne Bravo as the all-rounder now is the part of coaching setup as a bowling coach.

Suresh Raina on Sam Curran

Suresh Raina was having an interaction with Jio Cinema and was asked about Sam Curran. “CSK really want him in their set-up because he has done really well in the World Cup. He has got great leadership qualities as well. CSK can look for a captain in him in the future. Chennai wickets will definitely suit his bowling. A lot of variation and when you are playing home games, he is going to be very useful.” said Suresh Raina.

Steep Road ahead for CSK

CSK will  have to find the replacement of Robin Uthappa. The Men in Yellow has a purse of 20.45 Crores and 7 slots are available out of which only 2 are of overseas. CSK fans would be hoping that Sam Curran is a part of the team as we all witnessed how he performed in the T20 WC.

With MS Dhoni back as the captain of the side, the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja would be delighted as there would be no added pressure on him. Head Coach Stephen Fleming would be aware of the fact that they can’t take any team lightly especially the new franchises Gujarat Titans & Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
