Indian Cricket Team would be riding high on confidence after bowling out Bangladesh for 227 runs. The management astonishingly dropped Kuldeep Yadav from the playing 11 and included the left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat. Unadkat got a chance in the team after 12 years and took 2 scalps on the comeback.
The hosts would be dejected with their performance as they once again failed to make a mark in the 1st innings. The decision to shuffle the batting order didn’t work as apart from Mominul Haque, not a single batter scored 30 runs. Mominul’s knock of 84 runs was the only biggest positive of the 1st innings.
Harbhajan Singh on Kuldeep Yadav’s Non-Selection
Harbhajan Singh was having an interaction with PTI and was asked about Kuldeep Yadav’s exclusion. “I think from now on, Kuldeep should stop taking five-wicket hauls. Who knows that he might just get to play two Test matches in a row!” said Harbhajan Singh.
“Like last time when he got a five-for, before Chattogram Test, was against Australia in Sydney (5/99) in different conditions. He was supposed to be India’s No. 1 spinner in overseas conditions but he had to wait for more than two years to play a Test.” he added.
Harbhajan Questions Management
Harbhajan Singh was furious with the management. “Like last time when he got a five-for, before Chattogram Test, was against Australia in Sydney (5/99) in different conditions. He was supposed to be India’s No. 1 spinner in overseas conditions but he had to wait for more than two years to play a Test.” said Harbhajan Singh.
“How does one feel safe if he gets dropped after taking eight wickets. Can he play fearless cricket when all that the team management has done is to instill fear in him? You can never perform if there is a sword hanging over your head. I only hope that Kuldeep doesn’t lose confidence because of this as he is someone who should be serving India for another good 8-10 years.” he added.
