It was an exciting day for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday, when they crushed Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in IPL 2023 final to become the joint-most successful team in Indian Premier League. CSK successfully chased down a 171-run target in just 15 overs to clinch their 5th trophy in IPL.

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Gujarat Titans posted a marvellous total of 214-4 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant 96-run knock by Sai Sudharsan. As the match was affected by rain, it was cut down to 15 overs with CSK needing 171 for victory.

There is no doubt that Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is one of the most beautiful stadiums in the country. A lot of fans came out to support their favourite teams. While Gujarat Titans had the home crowd in their favour, many CSK fans travelled from all over the country to cheer for the men-in-yellow.

A video went viral on social media in which the scenes outside Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad just after Chennai’s victory can be seen. As soon as Ravindra Jadeja stormed the winning boundary, the stadium roof exploded with cheers from CSK fans.

Chennai Super Kings also crushed Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1. The match took place at Chennai’s home ground in Chepauk and they easily managed to outplay the Hardik Pandya-led side by 15 runs in the match. However, GT made a comeback by crushing Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 and booked a spot in the final.

Gujarat Titans were expected to be the favourites to win due to the home advantage. But Chennai Super Kings eventually proved why they are touted as the most dangerous side in any stadium. Devon Conway scored 47 runs for the team and won the Player of the Match award for his crucial batting knock at the start.
