The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 concluded on a staggering note as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thumped Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets to claim their fifth title in the league. Skipper MS Dhoni led his side fantastically well as he backed his players, who repaid his faith and handed him another trophy.
The commitment of MS Dhoni this season was something that was lauded by many. The keeper-batter was battling a knee injury and despite that, he managed to keep wickets for full 20 overs in all the games. He even came out to bat at down the order in some of the games and played crucial cameos for his side.
Despite being in pain, he put his hand up and came out to bat. However, a video of him has gone viral on the internet. In the clip, MS Dhoni can be seen strapping his injured knee before coming out to bat for Chennai Super Kings in the final. Here’s the video:

IPL Final: MS Dhoni talks about playing next year in the IPL as well
One question that was the hot soup of the IPL was will this be MS Dhoni’s last season in the league? There were a lot of speculations about if he will play the next season or if will it be his last season in the league, considering his age and fitness.
MS Dhoni, however, put the talks to rest. Although he isn’t sure if he will return to play in the next season or not, he said that if he returns back it’ll be a gift from him to the fans. But he needs to work hard. He said:
“Looking for an answer? This is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love I have received all over. The easy thing would be to walk away from here, but the harder thing would be working hard for 9 months and try to play another IPL. It would be a gift from me, won’t be easy on the body.” He concluded.
