It was a tough day for Gujarat Titans and their skipper Hardik Pandya on Monday when they failed to defeat Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023 final even after getting so close. In the final over, Mohit Sharma almost pulled the final over by giving just 4 runs off the first 4 balls.
However, Ravindra Jadeja completely changed the scenario of the match in the final two balls. Smashing a six and a four off the last two balls, he drove CSK to a fascinating victory by 5 wickets. As a result, Hardik Pandya’s happiness ahead of the final 2 balls turned into disappointment later.

A video is going viral on social media in which Hardik Pandya is seen celebrating before the last two balls. Pandya, who was fielding near the boundary during the final over, was almost sure that his team will pull off a victory in the last two balls since Mohit Sharma conceded only singles in the first 4 deliveries.
However, as we say in sports, we should never celebrate too early and Hardik Pandya learned it the hard way. Have a look at the video below.

IPL 2023 | India National Cricket Team | Chennai Super Kings (CSK) | Delhi Capitals (DC) | Gujarat Titans (GT) | Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) | Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) | Mumbai Indians (MI) | Punjab Kings (PBKS) | Rajasthan Royals (RR) | Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) | SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH)
The IPL 2023 final was a nail-biting game with both CSK and GT giving astonishing performances on the field. CSK opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted a mammoth total of 214-4 in 20 overs.
Sai Sudharsan shattered a marvelous knock of 96 runs off 47 balls while opener Wriddhiman Saha hit 54 runs. For CSK, their openers Devon Conway (47) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (26) again gave a superb start to the batting. Later, Ajinkya Rahane (27 off 13) and Shivam Dube (32 off 17) also played crucial cameos.
Towards the end, it was a battle between Mohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja when the team needed 10 runs off 2 balls. Jadeja, who is already habitual to pressure moments like these in the past, managed to stun Sharma with his two prominent shots.
Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat failed to defend their title while CSK won their fifth-ever IPL trophy under skipper MS Dhoni. Now, they have 5 IPL titles in their kitty like Mumbai Indians.
