Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta feels that Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Arshdeep Singh isn’t in the fight frame of mind in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said that the pacer has been very expensive and needs one good spell to regain his confidence.

PBKS pacer Arshdeep Singh has been amongst the leading wicket-takers in the league. The pacer has scalped 16 wickets from 10 outings and had chipped in at crucial stages for his side. But he has leaked a lot of runs as well at times, which has made the team suffer.

Deepdas Guppta mentioned that PBKS’ bowlers have conceded a lot of runs in the last few games, which has hampered their confidence.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said: “Punjab’s bowling unit has gone for plenty in the last few games. I don’t think that helps their confidence either. Someone like Arshdeep, I mean as good as he is, but he has been very, very expensive. Leave aside this game, even in the last game, he was very expensive.”

Deep Dasgupta further pointed out that Arshdeep Singh’s confidence has taken a hit and the pacer needs one good spell to get back in rhythm and get in the right space of mind.

He elaborated: “As a unit, they haven’t performed. He is not very expressive, but you can see in his body language that he needs one good spell to get him back into that right mind space.”

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will be next seen in action when they will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday (8th May) at Eden Gardens.
