The right-handed batsman was included in the playing eleven for the ongoing clash between CSK and Mumbai Indians at his home ground Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Ajinkya Rahane warmed the bench in the first two games as CSK played against Rising Pune Supergiant and Lucknow Super Giants. And he was expected to be out of the team for the clash against Mumbai Indians too. But with Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali not available for selection, it finally opened a slot for Ajinkya Rahane in the team.

And the out-of-favor India batsman marked his comeback in the playing eleven in IPL in a stunning manner. He got going with a six off Jason Behrendorff in the third over before announcing his return by taking Arshad Khan to the cleaners in the 4th over.
