RR vs LSG: Watch - Ayush Badoni Tries To Scoop, Ends Up Hitting Trent Boult's Delivery On The Stumps

Ayush Badoni, on Wednesday (April 19), failed to make the most of the opportunity given to him by the Lucknow Super Giants team management in the ongoing match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

The young batsman, who impressed one and all with his batting in the last IPL, has played some promising knocks while coming lower down the order in the ongoing season. He played knocks of 18, 23 and 30 in the first four innings of IPL 2023.

And on Wednesday, he was given an opportunity to impress further. The right-handed batsman was promoted to number three in the batting order after KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers gave their team a solid start with the bat.

Ayush Badoni flops:

Rahul and Mayers added 82 runs for the first wicket before Jason Holder broke the stand in the 11th over. He sent back Rahul to give his team a much-needed breakthrough. With the platform set, the Lucknow team management promoted Ayush Badoni in hope that he would play some big shots.

Badoni, however, failed to justify the decision. He scored just 1 run off 4 balls. After failing to hit a big shot in the first three balls he faced, Badoni decided to play a risky shot against Trent Boult. He decided to scoop the New Zealand star behind the stumps but completely failed.

He moved across in an attempt to guide the ball towards the fine leg. And while he managed to get bat on the ball, he ended up smashing it onto the leg stump.

Talking about the ongoing game, Lucknow Super Giants were on 108 for 4 in the 15th over at the time of writing this report. Soon after Badoni departed, Deepak Hooda and a well-set Kyle Mayers followed him to the dressing room.
