RR vs PBKS: "Nice To Get That Win"- Nathan Ellis After Winning The Player Of The Match Award Against Rajasthan Royals In 8th Match Of IPL 2023

Punjab Kings (PBKS) held their nerve & won a tense contest by only 5 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR). PBKS speedster Nathan Ellis proved to be the game-changer as he took 4 wickets & gave away 30 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Nathan Ellis took the key wicket of Jos Buttler in the power-play overs which proved to be decisive.

RR skipper Sanju Samson should have opened the innings when Buttler wasn’t ready due to the stitches in his fingers. Sanju Samson failed to convert his start as he was dismissed on 42 runs in 25 balls & was looking ominous.

Devdutt Padikkal was seen struggling as he scored only 21 runs in 26 balls due to which the required run rate went out of reach. Perhaps, RR needs to change their batting order as they have got 4 proper openers present in the form of Buttler, Yashasvi, Padikkal & skipper Samson.

Nathan Ellis was quite pumped up after winning the Player of the Match award against RR. Nathan Ellis stated that he didn’t think too far ahead & made sure that he bamboozle the batters with his variations at the back end of the innings. We should not forget that there was immense dew present.

“Just stoked to get the win, pleased to get some awards but from a team’s point of view nice to get that win. In T20 every ball counts, staying in the moment is really the key. When I was bowling in the backend, I was trying to get my variations right and calculate what the best ball is at that time. For me it’s cross-seam and it worked out really well tonight,” said Nathan Ellis.
