Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson won the toss & elected to bowl first at Guwahati. RR & PBKS named an unchanged playing 11. PBKS got off to a flyer as they scored 63 runs in the power-play overs for the loss of no wickets. Prabhsimran Singh was toying with the bowlers. He was well-set and smashed his maiden IPL half-century & was in beast mode.

KM Asif, the right-arm pacer, had terrible figures as he gave away 28 runs in his first two overs. The peculiarity of Prabhsimran Singh was that he didn’t fear the likes of Trent Boult & Ravichandran Ashwin as there was carnage. Shikhar Dhawan made sure that Prabhsimran Singh get the most of the strike.

Jos Buttler covered a huge distance & took a running catch which was quite tough as there was very less time available. Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed on 60 runs in 34 balls & struck 7 fours and 3 sixes. The dismissal of Prabhsimran Singh can slow the down things. PBKS’ score was 90-1 in 9.4 overs.

Crucial Phase for PBKS

PBKS must aim for a score in excess of 200 as there are chances that dew may come into action later in the match when defending would be quite tough. It won’t be a surprise if one of Sam Curran or Sikander Raza gets promoted who can accelerate & up the ante in the middle overs phase.

RR would sense that they can slow down the run rate as Shikhar Dhawan can be seen struggling to clear the fence. The role of Ashwin & Chahal would be quite pivotal as they will have to make sure that they don’t allow the batters to rotate the strike. Sanju Samson would be hoping for a cluster of wickets.
