Delhi Capitals (DC) are all set to lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 24th April (Monday) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. DC’s head coach Ricky Ponting & Director Sourav Ganguly are under scrutiny after the team’s below-par performance in IPL 2023 so far. Sourav Ganguly too was concerned about the middle order’s performance against KKR.

DC’s middle order is quite fragile which is not a good sign at all. The management would be considering promoting Axar Patel up the order who not only can smash lusty blows but can also provide stability in the middle overs.

SRH on the other side are placed at 9th position with 2 wins from 6 matches. SRH have got a brilliant bowling lineup in the form of Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik & T Natarajan who can rattle the opposition on any surface but the batters aren’t performing according to their credentials.

DC fans would be somewhat happy after David Warner’s blistering half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Prithvi Shaw hasn’t been able to dictate the terms despite amassing tons of runs in the domestic circuit.

SRH will have to figure out the batting position of Mayank Agarwal as the batter hasn’t had success batting at the No.6 position. SRH would back themselves to beat DC as they got the likes of Mayank Markande & Washington Sundar who can fox the batters with their variations.

Sachin Tendulkar was a special player – Sourav Ganguly

Sachin Tendulkar turned 50 years of age on 24th April 2023. DC’s director Sourav Ganguly was having an interaction with DC’s social media handle. Sourav Ganguly revealed how he opened the batting with Sachin Tendulkar for India. Sourav Ganguly pointed out that Sachin became a champion player when he started to open the batting. Sourav Ganguly greeted Sachin Tendulkar for entering the club of 50 years.

“The first time I saw Sachin Tendulkar was in a U-15 camp in Indore a long time ago. He used to use very heavy bats at that time in the camp or in the training and you could see that he was a special player. When Sachin Tendulkar started to open against South Africa in Jaipur, they were not finding an opening batter, they asked me why don’t you open,” said Sourav Ganguly.

“It was a different story when we both batted together. Sachin earlier also used to bat at No.6 position and when they made him open in ODI, he became a champion and our partnerships started. Welcome to the club (of 50 years), I got into the club last year and now he is in this year,” he added.
