It was a perfect Sunday for the cricket fans as Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was host to two staggering encounters. The first game took place between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Narendra Modi International Stadium. Whereas second game was between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Jaipur.

In the first game, GT after being asked to bat first posted a gigantic total of 227 runs on the board. Their openers Shubman Gill (94*) and (81) contributed massively whereas skipper Hardik Pandya (25) and David Miller (21*) also played valiant hands.

While defending the target, they failed to take wickets upfront but they held their nerves and on account of a four-wicket haul by Mohit Sharma, they restricted the opposition to a total of 171 runs and won the game by 56 runs.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the toss in the second game and opted to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal (35) and Jos Buttler (95) yet again gave their team a flying start before Sanju Samson chipped in with an unbeaten 65-run knock that helped RR post a total of 214 runs.

While chasing the target, SRH had a staggering start as well as Anmolpreet Singh (33) and Abhishek Sharma (55) stitched 51 runs for the opening partnership. Rahul Tripathi then chipped in with crucial innings as he smashed 47 runs that kept SRH in the hunt.

But Yuzvendra Chahal with his four wickets turned the game in RR’s favor. Glenn Phillips then struck 22 runs in the 19th over before Sandeep Sharma almost defended 17 runs in the last over. But a no-ball from him, in the end, turned the game as Abdul Samad smashed a six on the last ball to win the game by 4 wickets.

After the end of the 52nd game of the IPL 2023, there was no change in the upper half of the points table as despite losses LSG and RR retained third and fourth places. There was a slight change in the lower half of the table as after a win over Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped one place up and now are 9th on the points table.

Faf du Plessis continued leading the charts but Yashasvi Jaiswal after his brisk knock against SRH got back his second spot. Shubman Gill jumped to No.3 after his exceptional knock against LSG. Whereas CSK’S Devon Conway and Virat Kohli were pushed down one step each and are now stationed at 4th and 5th respectively.

Mohammed Shami reclaimed his purple cap after his performance against LSG. Whereas Rashid Khan leapfrogged Tushar Deshpande to grab the No.2 spot. Yuzvendra Chahal after his four wickets jumped to the No. 5 spot whereas Piyush Chawla retained his 4th place.
