Aakash Chopra backs Yashasvi Jaiswal to score 600+ runs in IPL 2024 for Rajasthan Royals

Aakash Chopra in his latest YouTube video, backed India’s young Test opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal to storm the IPL 2024 season by scoring more than 600 runs. Chopra stated that Jaiswal could be on for his best-ever IPL edition as he can channel the momentum he received in the international scene to his performances for Rajasthan Royals.

The former Indian cricketer was contemplating the best opening pairs of IPL 2024 in his latest video. There he mentioned a lot of opening duos but he specifically mentioned that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler could be the best ones. Chopra made these comments concerning the form Jaiswal is in at the moment and that the Royals can highly benefit from it.

Chopra says Buttler will stage a strong comeback this year and rattle opposing bowlers with Yashasvi Jaiswal

The opening duo of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a lot of news for their performance in IPL 2023. They shared 1121 runs between them that year with Buttler claiming the Orange cap with 863 runs while Jaiswal amassed 258 runs. However, last year Buttler’s form had dipped severely, scoring just 392 runs with 4 half-centuries. In his out-of-form season, it was Jaiswal who made the most.

The 22-year-old crossed the 300, 400, and 500 mark for the first time in his IPL career since making his debut in 2020. His 625 runs included a century and 8 half-centuries at a daunting 163.61 strike and average 48.08 across the season. Jaiswal had also scored the fastest 50 in IPL history against Kolkata Knight Riders off just 12 balls.

And when he joins the RR camp and hits the ground along with Jos Buttler, it will be a scary sight for other teams, feels Aakash Chopra.

“I feel Rajasthan’s opening combination of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler is amazing. It could actually be ranked No. 1. I am saying that firstly because of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s current form. It means his 600-plus IPL season is almost loading.” – Aakash Chopra said on his YT video.

“When you head into a tournament with such confidence, you bat at a different level, which he did last year as well, but will do with more maturity this year. Along with him Jos Buttler, who had a very ordinary season last year. After that, he did well in the SA20, and for how long will you keep Buttler quiet.” – Chopra concluded.
