Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have begun their preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Yellow Army commenced their pre-season camp on Saturday (2nd March) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
The first batch of local players joined the team for the upcoming season and a few more players are expected to join soon. The likes of Simarjeet Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Ajay Mandal, and Deepak Chahar are among the players who have started the training.
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) confirmed about the development, saying that local Indian players joined the team and have started the training. Speaking to PTI, he explained: “The first batch of local (Indian) players arrived on Friday and more are expected to arrive in the coming days.”
All eyes will be on Deepak Chahar as the upcoming season will be important for him. The exciting fast bowler has missed a lot of cricket of late due to injuries as well as personal reasons, because of which he opted out of Australia, South Africa, and the Afghanistan T20Is.
Deepak Chahar has also attained his full fitness ahead of the IPL 2024. The upcoming edition of the league will be crucial for him with a spot for the T20 World Cup in the Indian team also up for grabs. The fast bowler would want to make a statement and stake his claim back.
Apart from Deepak Chahar, Ruturaj Gaikwad also joined the team for the IPL 2024. The franchise posted a picture of him arriving at the team hotel. The tournament will also be a comeback for him as he missed quite a few games for the Indian team due to injuries.
He will be vital for the team in the upcoming edition. Since the last few seasons, he has been a mainstay for the team at the top of the order. He would also want to shine at a big stage and make his case strong for the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024.
