CSK coach reveals what different did MS Dhoni do in the training nets to wreak havoc with the bat against Mumbai Indians

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowling coach Eric Simons hailed MS Dhoni after his stunning cameo with the bat in the MI vs CSK encounter of IPL 2024. Eric Simons said that MS Dhoni continues to amaze them even at this age.
MS Dhoni played a prominent knock during the MI vs CSK clash of IPL 2024. The wicketkeeper-batter arrived to bat in the final over of 1st innings. He stormed three sixes off Hardik Pandya's final over, capturing 20 runs off his 4 balls.
With 186-4 on the board and just 4 more balls left, CSK were expected to pile up under the 200-run mark. However, Dhoni's cameo helped them to reach 206-4 in the end to put the rivals Mumbai Indians under pressure.

During the post-match press conference, CSK bowling coach Eric Simmons heaped praises on MS Dhoni's batting. He said Dhoni continues to amaze the team with his batting might.
"Such an important thing is the psychological pressure you put an opposition in when you go into the break. You go to the changeroom and you have an over like that, it gives you massive momentum. They were looking to restrict us under 200 and suddenly they were facing 206 with an over like that. MS Dhoni continues to amaze us,” Simons said.

Simons also highlighted that Dhoni has batted exceptionally well in the nets and it was another unbelievable Dhoni moment.
“To go out there and hit the first ball like that for six and continue the way he did was exceptional. He has been batting exceptionally well in the nets all the way through, pre-season and into the tournament. It was just another unbelievable MS Dhoni moment,” he further added.

Hardik Pandya’s expensive final over with 26 runs turned the match in CSK’s favor. They started quite slow in the powerplay overs but gained momentum with half-centuries by Ruturaj Gaikwad (69) and Shivam Dube (66*).
During the chase, Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten century for Mumbai Indians (105*). However, pacer Matheesha Pathirana's 4 wickets for 28 runs swept the victory in CSK’s favor. MI could only reach 186-6 till the final over.
Meanwhile, Dhoni has showcased an amazing batting form in IPL 2024. The CSK legend has slammed 59 runs across 4 innings at a fabulous strike rate of 236+. Earlier, he stormed an unbeaten 37 off 19 balls in a clash against Delhi Capitals in a losing cause. He hit 20 off 4 balls vs MI in the previous match. In the other two games, he remained not out at 1 run.
