The 31s match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Tuesday (16th April). The game between the two table toppers of the league took place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. 

Rajasthan Royals extended their dominance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as they thumped Kolkata Knight Riders by 2 wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This was their 6th victory in the tournament as they bagged the top spot in the table.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were asked to bat first and it wasn't a great start for them. The hero of the last game Phil Salt (10) perished early after a scratchy start. However, after that, it was Sunil Narine's show with the bat as he made the crowd go berserk. 

Sunil Narine oozed his class with the bat and played some sensational innings at the top. Young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi (30) provided great support while batting at the No.3. The duo added 85 runs for the second wicket and put Rajasthan Royals bowlers under pressure. 

Narine on the other end brought up his magnificent century. The opening batter ended with an innings of 109 runs off 56 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 194 and also hit 13 fours and 6 sixes in his knock and made sure that Kolkata Knight Riders got a big total. 

Andre Russell (13) and Rinku Singh (20*) made handy contributions with the bat in the end as the home posted a gigantic total on the board at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They ended with a massive total of 223 runs in the 31st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

For Rajasthan Royals, Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 2/35. Apart from him, Kuldeep Yadav bagged two scalps. Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal were also among the wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rajasthan Royals had a brutal start to their innings as Yashasvi Jaiswal (19) played some magnificent strokes at the top. But he couldn't carry on after that. Sanju Samson (12) perished after that as well as the visitors came under pressure. 

Jos Buttler and Riyan Parag (50) then brought Rajasthan Royals back into the game as they added 50 runs together. But after that, Kolkata Knight Riders pulled back things incredibly well as they picked wickets at the quick succession of time. 

However, there was a twist in the tale yet again. Rovman Powell (26) played a brutal cameo and along with Jos Buttler added 57 runs to tilt the game in their team's favour. After Powell got out, Buttler took the onus to himself and took the attack to the bowlers. He hit a brutal century and took his team home.
