"Little relief" - Rishabh Pant talks about his desperation for win after victory over LSG in IPL 2024

Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant talked about the win his team registered in the game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He said that they wanted to win the game badly and are now feeling relaxed after the win. 

After facing a plethora of losses, Delhi Capitals finally got their second win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They thumped Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday (13th April). 

Delhi Capitals came up with a dominating performance in the game against Lucknow Super Giants. They first oozed their class with the ball as they restricted the opposition to a total of just 167 runs. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/20. 

After that, they displayed a magnificent effort with the bat. Even though they lost David Warner early after that with the young guns along with skipper Rishabh Pant playing, it was pleasing to see. First, Prithvi Shaw (32) exhibited classy batting. 

And after that, it was the young Australian gun Jake Fraser-McGurk. The right-hander played a magnificent innings on his debut and slammed a brutal half-century. He ended with an inning of 55 runs off 35 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 157 and also. hit 2 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. 

Skipper Rishabh Pant (41) did what he does best as he played a magnificent innings. He along with Jake Fraser-McGurk added 77 runs as Delhi Capitals paved their way to the dominating victory. They won the game with 6 wickets and 11 balls to spare. 

Rishabh Pant revealed his conversation with the team ahead of the game and stated that he urged his players to play like champions. Speaking about the same during the post-match presentation, the Delhi Capitals skipper stated: 

"Little relief, we wanted a win badly. I was talking to the boys saying we need to think like champions, we need to keep fighting hard. (On bowling) We have phases where we are not up to the mark, some individuals have to take responsibility for that. However, we stick together as a group."

Rishabh Pant also talked about the team combination going ahead into the Indian Premier League. He also praised Jake Fraser-McGurk for his staggering innings with the bat and said that they have found their new No.3. He explained: 

"Some things you can control, some things we can't. (On team combination) I think we are getting closer to the right XI, but we've had so many injuries in this group. However, you can't keep complaining about that. (On Fraser-McGurk) Hopefully, we've found our new number 3, haven't thought too much about it. Hope he can continue." 

Delhi Capitals moved to 9th on the points table in the Indian Premier League (IPL). 2024. They now have two wins under their belt. The Rishabh Pant-led side will be next seen in action when they take on Gujarat Titans on 17th April.
