Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) garnered attention by extending unexpected congratulations to Mayank Yadav for Mumbai Indians' (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav's half-century. The Lucknow franchise's congratulatory message quickly gained traction on various social media platforms.

Suryakumar Yadav made a comeback for the Mumbai Indians against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 7 but was dismissed for a duck. However, the batter delivered a formidable performance against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), showcasing promising signs of his batting prowess.

The 33-year-old batter entered the crease at No. 3 following a strong 101-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. With a solid foundation established, Mumbai aimed to enhance their net run rate, with Suryakumar Yadav taking charge of the onslaught.

Surya scored his fifty in just 17 balls, marking the season's second-fastest fifty after Abhishek Sharma. His innings abruptly ended in the 14th over, falling to Vijaykumar Vyshak's bowling. He amassed 52 runs off 19 deliveries, including five fours and four sixes, at a strike rate of 273.68.

Mayank Yadav What A Player - Lucknow Super Giants

Following Suryakumar Yadav's innings, the Lucknow Super Giants posted a humorous message, sharing Suryakumar Yadav's photo and congratulating Mayank Yadav. However, it was revealed that this post was intentional, drawing parallels between the two cricketers.

"Bowls at 157, strikes at 200+. Mayank Yadav what a player," LSG wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

For those unaware, fans have asserted that Mayank and Suryakumar Yadav are identical individuals. This article sheds light on these speculations while confirming recent arguments regarding their shared identity.

Since Suryakumar Yadav's return to the field, Mayank Yadav has coincidentally been sidelined due to injury. Suryakumar returned on April 7 for an afternoon game, while Mayank sustained his injury during a night match on the same day.

Always Good To Be Back As Wankhede - Suryakumar Yadav

During the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav expressed his delight at returning to Wankhede Stadium. Yadav acknowledged the team's focus on finishing the match early to improve their net run rate.

"It's always good to be back at Wankhede, when the tournament started I was mentally here only, although physically in Bangalore (recovering from the injury), it felt like I never left. When you are chasing 200, it is important to know the dew factor and take your chances, both Rohit and Ishan did the job for us at the 10th over mark and we only knew that we had to finish early for that net run rate thing," Suryakumar Yadav said.

Suryakumar Yadav sustained ankle and hernia injuries during the South Africa tour. He encountered initial setbacks as the National Cricket Academy (NCA) did not grant him a fitness clearance at the beginning of the season, resulting in his absence from the first three matches of MI's campaign.

The Hardik Pandya-led side is set to encounter the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their third consecutive home game on Sunday, April 14.
