Kuldeep Yadav has reignited his international career brilliantly under Rohit Sharma's captaincy. He was almost in oblivion after the 2019 World Cup for the next two years. However, he was back in the team in 2022.
He was also a part of the Indian ODI World Cup and made a substantial contribution to India reaching the final undefeated. It was unfortunate to see the side lose to Pat Cummins' Australia. He took 15 wickets in the World Cup last year.
He also made a return to the Test side in the home series against England. He took 19 wickets against England and played four of the five Test matches.
Rohit Sharma Has Aura Which Attracts Players
Speaking to independent reporter Vimal Kumar's YouTube channel, Kuldeep spoke about how Rohit Sharma has an aura in the team and has a brotherly relationship with his players.
"Rohit bhai has that Aura which all players attract to him, he is like our elder brother. He understands every player and loves and cares for every player in the team. He treats the team like a family" said Kuldeep.
The chinaman bowler played the first two games and missed the next three games for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. They missed him dearly with the ball in the middle overs and the other bowlers were taken for plenty.

He made an immediate impact with his return as he took three wickets against LSG. He dismissed Marcus Stoinis, KL Rahul, and Nicholas Pooran to dent the LSG middle order. In the end, DC chased down LSG's target of 167 with 11 balls to spare. It was a morale-boosting win for the Capitals and they would hope that Kuldeep Yadav continues his form in the remaining games.
Kuldeep was named the Player of the Match for his figures of three for 20 off his four overs. In his post-match comments, Kuldeep emphasized the importance of the wickets he took.
"I liked the first and second wickets, I have played a lot against Pooran and the execution for that was right. I was clear with my plans, just the length matters for me as a spinner. Very clear and confident with my skills."
"Whenever I feel the DRS call is 50/50, I try to push for it but when it is more 60/40 then I tend to listen to Rishabh. As a bowler, you obviously want to take the DRS whenever possible. We've got 2 reviews, so obviously one is for me (laughs off)" said Kuldeep.
Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant in his post-match interaction said that he was a relieved man after his team got over the line against LSG. Since 2023, The Capitals lost 10 out of the 13 matches while chasing. This was just the third successful run-chase since last year. They became just the third team to beat LSG while chasing. Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans are the other two.
" Little relief, we wanted a win badly. I was talking to the boys saying we need to think like champions, we need to keep fighting hard. (On bowling) We have phases where we are not up to the mark, some individuals have to take responsibility for that. However, we stick together as a group" said Pant.
