SRH Playing 11 vs CSK- IPL 2024, Match 18

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) takes on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 18 of IPL 2024 in Hyderabad on April 5, Friday. This is SRH’s second home game for the Hyderabad side.

SRH started with a loss against KR. In their next match, they won against Mumbai Indians they piled up 277 and won the match by 31 runs. In their next match against Gujarat Titans, they failed to defend 163.

Hyderabad is placed sixth on the points table and does not have a good record against Chennai Super Kings. In 19 games against CSK, they have won just 5 and lost 14. In the last five games, they have lost four against the Yellow Army.

Heading into this game, they have their problems, especially with the bowling attack. They are missing Wanindu Hasaranga whose return is delayed by a week more. Mayank Markande as the specialist spinner has to do a lot by himself.

Another major concern for the Sunrisers Hyderabad is that Mayank Agarwal opening the batting has not scored too many runs. He has scored 59 runs in the first three games at an average of 19.67. Sunrisers Hyderabad might think about changing their playing XI heading into this game against CSK and think about making tactical changes.

SRH Playing 11 vs CSK- IPL 2024, Match 18

Travis Head

Travis Head will open the batting for SRH. He scored 62 against Mumbai Indians and followed it up with a 19 against Gujarat Titans. He has scored 81 runs in the first two games so far. Hyderabad spent almost 7 crores to rope him in the auction.

Mayank Agarwal

SRH persisted with Agarwal opening the batting in the first three games as he scored just 59 runs at an average of less than 20. It will be interesting to see if he has persisted with ion this game as well.

Abhishek Sharma

The southpaw will slot in at three. He scored 29 off 20 balls against GT after scoring a quickfire fifty against Mumbai Indians. Sharma is also comfortable opening the batting.

Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram will slot in at four. He has scored 77 runs in the first three games with a best of 42 against Mumbai Indians. Markram was replaced by Pat Cummins as the skipper.

Heinrich Klaasen

Klaasen will slot in at four. He has scored 167 runs in the first three games at an average of 83.50 scoring at a strike rate of 220. There is too much dependence on how he bats for his franchise.

Shahbaz Ahmed

The Bengal all-rounder has been playing regular cameos batting down the order for SRH and has been expensive with the ball. He went for 20 off his two overs and took a wicket.

Abdul Samad

Samad can slot in at seven. He scored a good 29 off 14 balls in a lost cause against Gujarat Titans. He will persist with the management it seems to lower down the order.

Pat Cummins (C)

Cummins can slot in at eight. He failed to win his team the match against KKR. He went for 28 off his four overs in the previous match and took a wicket. So far in the season he has taken four wickets from three games.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvi can slot in at nine. So far in the season, he has not picked up wickets consistently and has been expensive as well. He has already given away 131 runs in the first three games going for over 10.

Mayank Markande

Markande is the specialist spinner in the XI. He has picked up three wickets from the first three matches and given away 124 runs in the first three matches at an economy of 11.27.

Jaydev Unadkat

Unadkat concludes the likely playing XI for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He came in in the game against GT and gave 33 runs off his three overs. SRH is his eighth IPL franchsie.

Impact Sub- Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar can be used as the Impact Sub by SRH. He has not been used for all his four overs in any of the games he has played. He should be used as an Impact player either with bat or ball.
