Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli is giving his best with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. However, despite that, his team is struggling to get going in the tournament and is reeling at the bottom of the points table.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered a thrashing loss against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday (2nd April). It was their third loss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 from four games as they bagged a 28-run loss at their home ground in M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru didn’t have a great outing with the ball as they conceded 181 runs. They were also poor in the field as they also dropped quite a few catches which cost them and saw them giving up a lot of runs on a pitch that was difficult to bat on at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
With the bat, Royal Challengers Bengaluru started pretty well. Virat Kohli played some crisp shots in his innings and made sure that he took his team off the brutal start. He scored 22 runs off just 16 balls before getting dismissed to young left-arm spinner M Siddharth.
After he got out, Royal Challengers Bengaluru struggled to get going and lost wickets in quick succession of time. In the very next over after Virat Kohli got out, Faf du Plessis (19) perished as well and after that, nothing went their way. Pacer Mayank Yadav wreaked havoc and rushed the batters with his pace.
Rajat Patidar (29) and Mahipal Lomror (33*) tried their best but couldn’t take their team home. Royal Challengers Bengaluru were bundled out for just 153 and suffered a disappointing loss at their home ground. They also became the first team in the ongoing edition of the league to get all out.
After Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered the loss against Lucknow Super Giants, Virat Kohli looked absolutely shattered. The Premier batter was seen hitting the chair in disappointment and also looked dejected. The video of the incident went viral on the internet. Here’s the clip:

Virat Kohli becomes the orange cap holder in the IPL 2024
After his 22-run knock in the game against Lucknow Super Giants, Virat Kohli became the orange cap holder in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The batter has been magnificent with the bat in the ongoing tournament and is single-handedly carrying the batting lineup of his team
Virat Kohli has scored 203 runs to his name from the 4 games at an average of around 68. He also has slammed two half-centuries for his team. The next top scorer for RCB is Dinesh Karthik with 90 runs, which speaks a lot about how the team’s batting lineup is reliant on Kohli.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) also shared a video after the match in which the head coach Andy Flower was seen giving a speech and the players including Virat Kohli looked quite dejected.
Head coach Andy Flower consoled his players after the game and stated: “We have exciting opportunities just around the corner in a few days time. The opportunity that I see how can we respond. It was a tough day! Everyone in this room is hurting. But the opportunity that I see is, how can we respond?”
