Watch: Ishan Kishan sweats it out in the gym along with Hardik Pandya ahead of IPL 2024

While Indian batsman Ishan Kishan is away from the cricket field, he recently uploaded a video of his gym session along with Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Ishan had pulled out from the T20I series against Afghanistan and the Test series against England as he wanted to manage his workload. As per the new rule of the BCCI, the cricketers who have been away from the field due to unnecessary reasons are mandatory to play domestic cricket. However, Kishan didn’t return to domestic cricket and is currently preparing for the IPL 2024.

In the video uploaded by Ishan Kishan, he was seen training along with Hardik Pandya. Kishan was seen talking to Pandya regarding his training and was seen doing hard weight training. Kishan last represented India during the T20I series against South Africa in December last year.

Ishan Kishan is preparing to return to competitive cricket in Mumbai’s DY Patil T20 event. He is presently training in Vadodara alongside Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Kishan will represent the Reserve Bank of India in the DY Patil T20 tournament, which attracts several office teams and provides a respectable playing atmosphere for participants.

Ishan Kishan will be playing along with Hardik Pandya in the Mumbai Indians during the Indian Premier League 2024. Kishan has performed well in the IPL in the past and will be hoping to repeat the same in the 2024 edition of the tournament. The IPL 2024 is all set to start on March 22, whereas Mumbai Indians will play their first match against Gujarat Titans on March 24.

Because of Kishan’s aversion to playing first-class cricket and his obsessive focus on the IPL, the BCCI had to enforce that players must participate in a minimum number of Ranji Trophy matches to be eligible for the rich league’s auction pool.

Ishan Kishan was reportedly advised by a senior member of the Indian management that he shall return to domestic cricket if he wishes to make a return to the Test side. However, Kishan replied to him that he is currently working on his technical aspects and isn’t ready for red ball cricket.

While Ishan Kishan was supposed to represent Jharkhand in domestic cricket from February 15 during the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 match against Rajasthan. The JSCA is currently in darkness regarding Kishan’s return to the side in the later phase of the tournament. On the other hand, the BCCI selectors are also reported to not prefer Ishan for the upcoming series and tournaments. In the current scenario, more than 3 players are competing for one position in the Indian team.

With the upcoming T20 World Cup coming up, the Indian Premier League 2024 will be a medium through which the selectors will be picking up the squad of the tournament.

Selectors for the T20 World Cup 2024 team may not consider Ishan Kishan in the first place. Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson, for example, may be chosen by the selectors to be included in the squad for the next big ICC tournament. In the Indian cricket squad, there is fierce competition for a single spot, with multiple players vying for the same slot.
