Jasprit Bumrah announced his arrival in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) in style by castling Wriddhiman Saha with a beauty during the game between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (March 24).

The right-arm pacer missed the entire season last year owing to an injury and did not take long to make his mark in IPL 2024. After Hardik Pandya and Luke Wood opened the attack for Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah was introduced into the attack for the fourth over.

Gujarat openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha gave their team a good start by adding 27 runs in the first three overs. Jasprit Bumrah started with three dot deliveries before Saha hit him for a four. The fifth delivery was a dot as well before the India pace spearhead sent the wicketkeeper-batsman back.

It was a trademark yorker from the right-handed batsman who is widely regarded as one of the best pacers in the world. The Mumbai Indians star bowled an angled yorker from wide of the crease and Saha was a bit late to bring his bat down. The Gujarat opener also misread the line of the ball and was clean bowled as the ball crashed into the middle stump. Saha departed after scoring 19 runs.

Earlier, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first. The MI skipper received a hostile crowd on his first visit to the Narendra Modi Stadium since leaving Gujarat Titans. The fans booed him during the toss to make their displeasure clear.

Talking about the game, Gujarat were on 105 for 3 in the 13th over at the time of writing this report. Captain Shubman Gill got the start but could not convert it into a big score and departed for 31. Sai Sudharsan and Azmatullah Omarzai then added 40 runs for the third wicket before the latter was dismissed by Gerald Coetzee.
