Marco Jansen came up with a stunning catch to send back the dangerous Phil Salt in the ongoing game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing third match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024).

The England batsman was originally not a part of the KKR squad and was roped in as a replacement for Jason Roy after the latter pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons. He made his debut in the ongoing game and did not take long to announce his arrival for the Kolkata-based outfit.

In the second over of the innings, Phil Salt got going by slamming Marco Jansen for three sixes in a row. He went on to complete his fifty and before he could convert it into a very big score, Marco Jansen’s stunning catch sent him back.

On the fifth ball of the 14th over bowled by leg-spinner Mayank Markande, Phil Salt rocked back to get down on one leg and pulled it towards the boundary. The ball was looking set to cross the boundary before Marco Jansen came running from deep mid-wicket and put in a brilliant dive to complete the catch with both hands. Salt departed after scoring 54 off 40 balls with the help of three fours and as many sixes.

Talking about the game, KKR have finished their innings on 207 for 7 . The two-time champions were reeling at 51 for 4 at one stage before Ramandeep Singh and Phil Salt took the score past the 100-run mark. Both of them departed in quick succession before Rinku Singh and Andre Russell took charge.

They shared a huge stand of 81 runs to completely change the course of the game. Russell completed his fifty off just 20 balls as he took the SRH bowlers to the cleaners. T Natarajan broke the stand by dismissing Rinku for 23 in the final over.
