Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana has brought his team back in the game against Delhi Capitals. The 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is taking place at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Delhi Capitals have been magnificent with the bat in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings. The Rishabh Pant-led side were off to a fantastic start with the bat, thanks to David Warner (53) and Prithvi Shaw (43). The duo batted sensationally well and added 93 runs together.

After their partnership, Mitchell Marsh was looking to take the game away from the opposition. The all-rounder played some crisp shots in his innings. But his stay at the crease was undone by the brilliance of Matheesha Pathirana with the ball as he made the batter look clueless.

Matheesha Pathirana bowled a 150 kmph yorker ball to which Mitchell Marsh had no answers. The ball went like a bullet and had a bit of inward movement. It rattled the stumps in a flash and sent the all-rounder packing at the Vizag.

Mitchell Marsh played a vital innings for his team with the bat in the ongoing game against Delhi Capitals. The all-rounder scored 18 runs off 12 balls and also batted with a strike rate of 150. The right-hander also slammed 2 fours and 1 six in his innings and made sure that the team scored some quick runs.

If this was not enough, Matheesha Pathirana made sure he produced a similar ball in the same over. Two balls later, he castled the stumps of Tristan Stubbs to send the batter back into the pavilion for a two-ball duck in the CSK vs DC game at the Vizag.

Matheesha Pathirana bowled a 149.5-click yorker that went under the bat of Tristan Stubbs and castled the stumps. The ball knocked down the off and middle pole.

Tristan Stubbs couldn’t contribute much with the bat as Delhi Capitals was left tottering at 134/4. However, after that, it was Rishabh Pant’s show. When the chips were down, the all-rounder stood tall for his team and slammed a brutal half-century for his team.

Rishabh Pant brought up his first half-century of the season and ended with an innings of 51 runs off 32 balls. He batted with a strike rate of around 160 and also hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. His brutal innings powered Delhi Capitals to a total of 191 runs on the board.

After Matheesha Pathirana removed Mitchell Marsh and Tristan Stubbs, the fast bowler made sure that he produced another wicket for his team. He removed dangerous-looking Rishabh Pant and surely saved 10-15 runs for his team at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Matheesha Pathirana returned with the figures of 3/31 in his quota of 20 overs. The fast bowler produced a magnificent spell and helped his team take control of the middle overs. Apart from this, he also picked a sensational catch to remove David Warner.
