Rishabh Pant, on Wednesday (April 17), got a lucky breakthrough for Delhi Capitals as he stumped Shahrukh Khan in the ongoing game between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The wicketkeeper-batsman has hit the ground running in IPL 2024 and his impressive display in the ongoing game will further boost his chances of making it to India's squad for the T20 World Cup in June this year. The southpaw has impressed with the bat and is DC's leading run-scorer this season.

While not many were expecting him to keep the wickets in IPL 2024 after he returned to action following a gap of more than a year, Rishabh Pant has left many stunned with his commitment. Not only has he kept the wickets but has also looked sharp behind the stumps.

Talking about the dismissal, Shahrukh Khan was up against Tristan Stubbs to face his first delivery in the game. Stubbs bowled a full-length delivery outside the off stump and the GT batter had a go at it.

However, he could not make any contact with the ball which slid under his bat. The momentum also took the right-handed batsman out of the crease and before he could get back in, the damage was done.

Rishabh Pant could not collect the ball cleanly. However, the ball dropped out of his glove and hit the leg stump. The third umpire took his time but eventually gave his decision in the favour of the bowling team. As a result, Shahrukh had to walk back for a golden duck.

Talking about the game, GT are staring down the barrel after being asked to bat first. At the time of writing this report, they were on 80 for 8 in the 16th over with Afghan duo Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed batting in the middle. For DC, Ishant Sharma and Stubbs have picked up two wickets each so far.
