Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma is not the captain of the five-time champions. He was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the new captain a trade deal that went into the history books of the IPL.

However, he is never far away from the team giving tips and helping out young players. He has scored 156 runs in five games so far at an average of 31.20 striking close to 170. He also bagged a duck in the match against Rajasthan Royals.

Mumbai started with three back-to-back losses. The losses hurt Rohit as there were reports of differences between him and Hardik Pandya. Wins in the next two games have brought back some semblance. It has also lifted them to the seventh position on the points table.

His latest knock was 38 off 24 balls in the match against RCB at the Wankhede. MI won the match in 15.3 overs which boosted their NRR. MI play CSK next on Sunday at the Wankhede followed by matches against PBKS at Mullanpur and Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede.

Several Mumbai Indians players gave their opinion on Hardik's captaincy after the first three losses. Power-hitter Tim David spoke about the MI skipper positively.

"Hardik has been phenomenal in the way he has been playing for the team. That is what we need at some point. Sometimes it is me, sometimes it is other guys," Tim David added.

"You could go look at the first game where Hardik hit two boundaries in his first two balls. (We have) absolutely full faith in him. We know his power; we know how good he is. When he gets into that situation, he is going to win games for us," David further added.

Talking about Rohit Sharma, he was seen driving the Mumbai Indians team bus probably on the way to practice. Seeing him at the driver's death Mumbai Indians fans outside the team hotel cheered for him. The fans greeted him with loud cheers as he tried driving the bus.

Rohit Sharma also asked the fans to support Hardik Pandya during the first three losses for Mumbai Indians. The Wankhede crowd booed him for the first three games and started cheering for him as and when Mumbai Indias started winning.

He has also spoken about winning the T20 World Cup for India in the upcoming ICC event. He led India to the final of the World Cup. India won 10 matches on the trot only to lose to Australia in the final.

It was a heartbreaking loss for the Indian team and the Indian fans alike. The Indian fans do not like speaking about the final specifically about the date. Rohit has now set his sights on the T20 World Cup. The BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has already confirmed that he will lead the team in the mega event. Rohit also said he wants India to make it to the WTC final in 2025 in England.

"I haven't really thought about retirement. But, I don't know where life takes you. I am still playing well at this point in time - so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years and then, I don't know. I really want to win the World Cup and there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully, India makes it," said Rohit.
