Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris has lost a challenge to AB de Villiers after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) crushed the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2024. Ahead of the match, Scott Styris challenged ABD if RCB wins their next game, he will wear the RCB jersey in all IPL 2024 in all of their matches.

RCB crushed the Punjab Kings by 4 wickets in IPL 2024 match 6 to register their first victory in the league. Playing at home, the Faf du Plessis-led side chased down a 177-run target in the final over with impressive knocks by Dinesh Karthik (28*) and Virat Kohli (77*).

Ahead of the RCB vs PBKS encounter, IPL 2024 commentators Scott Styris and AB de Villiers had a challenge between them. Styris predicted RCB’s second straight defeat in IPL 2024. He also added if RCB wins the game, he will wear an RCB jersey in all of their games in IPL 2024.

RCB crushed PBKS by 4 wickets

Hence, Scott Styris has lost the challenge to former RCB member De Villiers and will now have to wear the RCB jersey in every game of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2024. Led by Faf du Plessis, RCB lost their opening match of IPL 2024 to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets.

However, they made a stunning comeback in the next game and demolished Punjab Kings on their home soil. Asked to bat first, Punjab Kings piled up 176-6 in 1st innings. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan slammed the most 45 runs for the team. Prabhsamran Singh (25), Sam Curran (23), Jitesh Sharma (27), and Shashank Singh (21*) also made notable contributions.

However, opener Virat Kohli led the way for RCB’s victory in the match with his 77 runs. Later, Dinesh Karthik smashed a blistering cameo of 10-ball-28 to drive the team to victory in the final over.

RCB faces KKR in their next game

Now, RCB will next face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at their home stadium. The RCB vs KKR clash takes place Friday, March 26 in Bengaluru. It will be interesting to see if Scott Styris wears the RCB jersey during the match and follows up with his challenge. KKR won their opening game against SRH by 4 runs.
