Punjab Kings (PBKS) cricketer Shashank Singh showcased acrobatic fielding skills during the second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Shashank Singh took an excellent running catch to send Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Tristan Stubbs into the pavilion.
Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan opted to bowl first after winning the toss at Mullanpur’s stadium on Saturday, March 23. The home team pacers leaked runs in the first few overs in the power play as Mitchell Marsh and David Warner attacked from the start.
The Delhi Capitals amassed 39 runs before Arshdeep Singh made a breakthrough for the Punjab team. Marsh contributed 20 runs off just 12 deliveries with the help of two fours and as many sixes. The DC team lost their first wicket on the second ball of the fourth over.
David Warner and Shai Hope forged a 35-run partnership for the second wicket. Harshal Patel dismissed Warner, initiating a collapse in the DC lineup. Subsequently, the Rishabh Pant-led team lost wickets at regular intervals, crumbling to 111/5 in just 13.2 overs.

The incident occurred on the third delivery of the 16th over during the Delhi Capitals’ innings. The right-handed batter, Tristan Stubbs, tried an inside-out chip against leg-spinner Rahul Chahar. However, Stubbs failed to make proper contact with the delivery.
Shashank Singh, who was stationed at long-off, swiftly moved to his left and slid before completing the catch with two hands. Stubbs had to depart after scoring just five runs off eight deliveries. Rahul Chahar claimed his first wicket of the match in his final over.
