The India National Cricket Team batting greats Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli shared a special moment during the 25th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) between the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) and Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Thursday, April 11, at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma share a great bond with each and they have been the backbone of the Indian team for over a decade now. They have delivered consistent performances for the India National Cricket Team across the globe and are the reasons behind the dominance of the Men In Blue in cricket.

Together the duo have had some of the most memorable partnerships with the bat and they have annihilated the bowling unit of many international cricket teams. Recently at an event, Kohli talked about Rohit Sharma and said that he has seen the journey and growth of Rohit in cricket. Virat Kohli also stated that he never thought he and Rohit would be the last few senior members of the Indian team when they end their careers.

Meanwhile, during the Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru match, the duo shared a lovely moment that made the fans of the Indian greats go crazy on social media. It was during the second innings of the match when Virat Kohli decided to tap Rohit Sharma on his back after the first over and the former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain responded to Kohli with a thumbs-up gesture.

Talking about the performances of the players, Virat Kohli failed miserably with the bat as he scored just 3 runs off 9 balls. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma shined as he smashed 38 runs off 24 balls and provided Mumbai Indians (MI) with a flying start in the match.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma-starrer Mumbai Indians (MI) managed to clinch a victory in the match against the Virat Kohli-starrer Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 7 wickets to register the second win of the season. This was also the 5th defeat of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league.

It's a tough pill to swallow - Faf du Plessis after the defeat of RCB against Mumbai Indians

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Faf du Plessis said that losing 5th game of the season was a tough pill to swallow. He said:

"It's a tough pill to swallow - combination of two things, very wet (the conditions with dew), I need to somehow win some tosses, secondly, they played really well, put the pressure on us and we made a lot of mistakes (especially during the powerplay). We knew dew would be a factor, we might have needed to make 250+, but they made 196 look very less. You know when there's dew coming, you'll have to bat big, the ball was very wet, it was changed a few times and the bowlers struggled."

Faf du Plessis admitted that they lost some key moments in the game which eventually became the reason behind their defeat in the match. Faf du Plessis said:

"We also lost a few key moments, we were going well when myself and Patidar were out in the middle with that partnership, but they did come back well."

Faf du Plessis further said that the batting unit of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) needs to contribute more as they only have limited weapons in the bowling department. Faf du Plessis said:

"We will have to find ways with the bat, get those big scores, we know our bowling is not our strongest suit, but we'll have to find ways to manage it, we'll have to be creative, go hard with the bat and make most of the first 4-5 overs with the bat."
