Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Director of Cricket Mo Bobat voiced his support for the team after a disappointing outing against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Mo Bobat expressed confidence in the team's ability to bounce back by winning consecutive matches and regaining momentum.

The SRH team posted a record-breaking total of 287/3 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, April 15. The Pat Cummins-led side restricted the hosts to 262/7, securing a 25-run victory. This loss marked RCB's sixth defeat in seven games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

The bowlers from the Bengaluru team all had an economy rate exceeding 10 runs per over. Will Jacks was the most economical bowler, conceding only 32 runs in three overs. Pace bowlers Reece Topley, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Yash Dayal conceded 17, 16, and 12.8 runs per over, respectively, during the match.

We Can Win The Next Three Or Four Games - Mo Bobat

In a video shared by RCB on X (formerly known as Twitter), Mo Bobat stressed the significance of the upcoming matches, likening them to knockout games. He expressed optimism about the team's capability to secure consecutive victories and boost confidence among supporters.

"We're into the second half of the competition. Now, we're not where we want to be in the league. Gotta look at this like knockout games now. We can win the next three or four games in a row. All of a sudden, people become faithful a lot because they would have seen what we did tonight with the bat, but the challenge is on us. You know, we've got to keep getting better."

Last year, RCB appointed English cricket administrator Mo Bobat as their Director of Cricket, succeeding former New Zealand cricketer Mike Hesson. Bobat previously served as a consultant for the Bangalore-based franchise before assuming his current full-time role.

Shame TO Not Get Over The Line - Mo Bobat

Mo Bobat expressed disappointment at falling short of the target. He highlighted the team's strategy of aiming for two boundaries per over to stay competitive and increase their chances of winning the game.

"It's a shame to get as close as we did to such a big score and to not get over the line. You can't really spend too much time thinking about how big the score is. Got to get your head into how you're going to chase it, and a few of us were saying the keyway is just to look to hit two boundaries every over. They hit, I think pretty much 40 boundaries," Bobat added.

RCB showed resilience, posting 262-7 in response to a mammoth total, contributing to a record 549 runs in the match. Skipper Du Plessis and Kohli launched a fierce attack, adding 80 runs in 6.2 overs.

However, Kohli's dismissal slowed their momentum. Despite setbacks, Karthik played an explosive knock, scoring 83 runs off 35 balls with five fours and seven sixes, keeping RCB in the game until his dismissal.
