Karachi Kings Season-Wise Performance:
Karachi Kings' first-ever PSL game was against Lahore Qalandars. They had won that game with Mohammad Amir taking a hat-trick. However, they could not impress in the remainder of the season, managing to win just one more game during the league stage.
They finished the league stage with just 2 wins and 6 sixes. The Karachi-based outfit eventually finished fourth in the league table and qualified for the playoffs as well. Their journey ended with a defeat against Islamabad United in the qualifier.
Ahead of the second season, Karachi Kings signed up Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara and Babar Azam who was one of the highly-rated youngsters in Pakistan at that time. For the second season in a row, Karachi Kings bowed out at the playoffs stage.
For the third season, Shahid Afridi was a notable addition to the Karachi Kings squad. However, the franchise once again failed to progress ahead of the playoffs and their fortunes did not change in 2019 as well when they finished at the fourths spot and failed to get ahead of the playoffs round.
Karachi Kings' fortunes finally changed in 2020 when they went all the way to win the PSL for the first time. After beating Multan Sultans in the qualifier, Karachi beat Lahore Qalandars in the title-decider under the captaincy of Imad Wasim.
Karachi Kings have not qualified for the final since their triumphant campaign in 2020. In fact, they have not even managed to progress to the playoffs in the last three seasons (2022 to 2024).
