Lucknow Super Giants - Season-wise Performance in IPL:
Lucknow Super Giants made their IPL debut in 2022 and had a number of big names in their squad. India star KL Rahul was the captain while the other notable names in the team were Marcus Stoinis, Quinton de Kock, Mark Wood and Krunal Pandya. Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir was also a part of the team's backroom staff as a mentor while Andy Flower was the head coach.
Lucknow Super Giants had a strong squad and they made the most of it. They were one of the most consistent teams in 2022 and managed to qualify for the playoffs. The Lucknow-based outfit qualified for the playoffs in 2023 as well with Rahul as their captain.
However, things did not go well in 2024. They failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time. With 7 wins from 14 games, Lucknow Super Giants finished at a disappointing 7th spot in the points table. Ahead of the 2025 mega auction, the franchise released Rahul and signed up Rishabh Pant for a record INR 27 crore before naming him as the captain.
