BCCI has announced the India squad for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. The test series will consist of two Test matches. Ajinkya Rahane has been named as the captain of the side for the 1st Test. Virat Kohli will join the squad for the second Test and will lead the team in the game.
The India vs New Zealand Test series will consist of 2 Test matches. The 1st Test will commence on November 25, 2021, at Green Park stadium in Kanpur. The 2nd Test will begin on December 3, 2021, and will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The India vs New Zealand Test series follows the three-match T20I series between both teams, slated to take place from November 17 to November 21.

For the 1st Test, Cheteshwar Pujara has been named the vice-captain while Ajinkya Rahane will lead the side. The Indian squad consists of 17 players. Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer are the batsmen who will be part of the squad. KL Rahul was a part of the Test squad but he sustained a muscle strain on his left thigh and has been ruled out of the series.
Rishabh Pant has been rested for the wicketkeeper’s choice. Wriddhiman Saha and KS Bharat are the two wicketkeepers who are part of India’s squad. For the all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja has been picked.
For pacers, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna are have been selected. For the spinners, Axar Patel, Jayant Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin are the three bowlers who have made it into the squad.
