The right-handed batter expressed delight with his performance in the World Cup year.

Virat Kohli scored his 46th ODI century, an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls with 13 fours and eight sixes, and was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. The 34-year-old smashed 283 runs in three matches at an excellent average of 141.50 and a strike rate of 137.38 and was rewarded with the Player of the Series award for being the highest run scorer.

When I Start Like This And Start Feeling Confident, Then Things Usually Go Well – Virat Kohli

In an interaction with his teammate Shubman Gill on bcci.tv, Virat Kohli said that he can be consistent and continue his batting form in the upcoming games.

“It’s been a great start. As I told Surya (Suryakumar Yadav), it’s been a while since I started the year like this, with a hundred and getting two hundreds in a series and also becoming man of the series. So, I am just happy that in the World Cup year I am able to start like this. I know I can be consistent. When I start like this and start feeling confident, then things usually go well,” Virat said.

“I am just happy from a team’s point of view that I was able to start like this and the team can really gel well as a batting unit. (To Shubman) You guys have been phenomenal at the top,” he added.

The 34-year-old took the monkey off his back in ODIs by scoring his 44th century against Bangladesh after 1214 days and scoring two more centuries in the next three innings. He scored 113 runs off 87 balls in the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Guwahati.
