Aakash Chopra believes that India’s batting strategy in T20I cricket bears the markings of Hardik Pandya’s aggressive brand of cricket.
At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 1, the Men in Blue chose to bat first against New Zealand in the series-deciding final T20I, posting a massive score of 234/4. The Black Caps were subsequently dismissed by their bowlers for a meager 66, giving them a resounding 168-run victory.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Chopra discussed Hardik’s captaincy and said the following:
“Captain Hardik Pandya is an aggressive captain. The ability of this side to continue scoring even when wickets are falling is a testament to Hardik Pandya’s cricket DNA.”

The former Indian opener emphasized that Hardik’s leadership has led India to adopt an incredibly aggressive batting strategy, explaining:
“The Lucknow game should be forgotten since the pitch was awful. However, if you look at the game that took place yesterday, you will notice that they continued to bat aggressively even while the wickets were tumbling. So Hardik Pandya’s cricketing philosophy is being seen in the batting.”
“Hardik Pandya is making good use of his bowling resources”: Aakash Chopra
Chopra believes there are some concerns about Hardik’s use of his bowling resources, explaining:
“There was some doubt about whether he was appropriately utilizing his bowling resources, which was specially raised during the last match. But when he is capable of taking four wickets, bowling well, and doing everything else, this will happen all of a sudden.”
Chopra noted that Hardik appears to have a soothing effect on the squad as she came to a conclusion. Regardless of their performance, he continued, the newly appointed captain tends to encourage his team.
