Team India has always been strong in batting, and they have a lot of batting depth with players like Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav on the bench. The team’s bowling has improved recently, and Jasprit Bumrah’s return from injury would only strengthen them further. Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt believes that if India wants to win ICC trophies, they need to be more aggressive.

The Men in Blue have not won an ICC tournament since the 2013 Champions Trophy, and they came close to winning the trophy, but lost in the 2014 T20 World Cup and 2017 Champions Trophy finals. The team only reached the semi-finals of the 2015 ODI World Cup, 2016 T20 World Cup, 2019 World Cup, and 2022 World Cup. The team made a group-stage exit in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Their Batting Is Already Very Strong – Salman Butt

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Salman Butt said that India has a large pool of talent, which creates confusion in the minds of selectors while picking a team for an ICC event. Salman Butt said that India have a very strong batting line-up and should think about changing the bowler’s approach.

“There have been certain selection issues at times. India are spoilt for choice, which results in some confusion. I believe that India should move towards developing a more aggressive mindset, especially in the bowling department. Their batting is already very strong and they just need to change their mindset when it comes to bowling,” Salman Butt said.

India have had a fantastic start to the World Cup year, beating Sri Lanka 3-0 at home in the recently concluded three-match ODI series.

They Just Want To Show That They Are All United – Salman Butt

Salman Butt said that many Pakistani players were posting tweets after the team’s defeat and that they will come back stronger next time. Butt said it was just a cover-up and an act to show that they were all united as a team.

“We haven’t seen anyone come forward and say that we haven’t been up to the mark. They only say that we will improve and come back stronger next time. Players will start tweeting as soon as something happens. But that is just a covering act. They just want to show that they are all united,” he added.
