Rohit Sharma Breaks MS Dhoni’s Record

Sharma, the Indian cricket team’s star opener, has broken a massive record held by none other than Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni. In the first ODI against New Zealand, Sharma hit a lofted drive on the bowling of Henry Shipley, which helped him become the batsman with the most ODI sixes in India.

With 124 sixes, he surpassed MS Dhoni’s previous record of 123 sixes and the likes of Sachin Tendulkar (71 sixes) and Yuvraj Singh (69 sixes).

Sharma’s three sixes during his 42-run performance in the third ODI against Sri Lanka tied the previous record for the most sixes hit in India by an Indian player in One Day Internationals (ODI).

India Off To A Good Start

Indian openers Sharma and Shubman Gill got off to a strong start in the ODI match held in Hyderabad. The Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, who won the toss, decided to bat first. The hosts made a few substitutions with Shradul Thakur replacing Umran Malik in the playing XI.

The inclusion of Hardik Pandya, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan in the playing XI was not surprising, as all three players have been performing well in recent matches.
