Indian Cricket Team sealed the ODI Series after a stunning win against New Zealand in the 2nd ODI. The Men in Blue were quite ruthless in all the 3 departments of the game. Mohammed Shami created havoc by picking up 3 wickets in his 6 overs spell and gave away 18 runs.
New Zealand would be utterly disappointed with their performance as they lacked intent. Skipper Tom Latham couldn’t lead the team from the front and it looked like he wasn’t ready for the steep challenge as in the absence of Kane Williamson, the onus was on him.
Mohammed Shami on Jasprit Bumrah
Mohammed Shami was having an interaction with media and was asked about Jasprit Bumrah. “The absence of good players is always felt. But if a player a gets injured, the game doesn’t stop. We do miss him because he is a good bowler. We are hopeful that he returns soon so that the team gets even stronger. He is working on his fitness and we are waiting for him to join the Indian team and complete the setup.” said Mohammed Shami.
Concerns for New Zealand
New Zealand should reconsider their batting approach as thee aren’t able to make the power-play overs count which is hurting the team. We should not forget that the Indian pacers bowled quite wicket to wicket where they cramped the batters for room.
India on the other hand would be booming with confidence as not many would have thought that India would win the series comprehensively. The management would be quite pleased where Shardul Thakur was economical as the speedster took 1 wicket and gave away 26 runs in his 6 overs.
