The 23-year-old India National Cricket Team spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar was involved in a horrendous mix-up with the 32-year-old India National Cricket Team star batter Suryakumar Yadav in the do-or-die T20I against New Zealand National Cricket Team.
The Hardik Pandya-led India National Cricket Team and the Mitchell Santner-led New Zealand National Cricket Team are taking on each other in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, January 29.

Washington Sundar was promoted in the batting order in the match as he came out to bat after the dismissal of Rahul Tripathi in the 11th over. He scored 10 runs off 9 balls, including 1 four, before getting run out in an unfortunate fashion in the 15th over.
On the third ball of the 15th over, Glenn Phillips bowled a length ball to Suryakumar Yadav pitching outside off-stump. The middle-order batter got down low and tried to play a reverse sweep, but he got this on the glove and the ball rolled down towards point.

New Zealand players instantly went for a big LBW appeal, but Suryakumar was completely focused on taking a single. He sprinted forward and kept running to reach the other end. Sundar, who was at the non-striker’s end, was stationed and he even put his hand up, but in the end, he was the one to sacrifice the wicket.
New Zealand Score 99 In 1st Innings
New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. The BlackCaps were restricted to 99/8 in their 20 overs. The batting was definitely not very easy on the surface, but a few more runs could have been scored.
The Kiwis being restricted to a score under 100 was due to the incredible bowling by the Indians as well as some poor batting from the Kiwi batters. Only Mitchell Santner timed the ball very well and he was the top run-getter for his side with 19 runs under his belt.
Also, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Hooda and Hardik Pandya picked up one wicket each while Arshdeep Singh bagged two wickets.
