After a complete dominance of their neighbors, India are now up for the Kiwi challenge. The Blackcaps are coming here on the back of a 2-1 series win in Pakistan.

After scoring his first hundred since 2019 in the Asia Cup 2022 game against Afghanistan, Virat Kohli is now back to his golden form in ODIs too. The former India skipper has scored 3 hundreds in his last 4 innings against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and will be the danger man for the visiting New Zealand team.

As the absence of an in-form Kane Williamson puts New Zealand in a difficult position, Devon Conway would be the key player to watch out for. The southpaw batsman was named man of the series against Pakistan.

New Zealand will also be missing Tim Southee and Trent Boult in this series. There are many less experienced faces in the bowling attack.  Lockie Ferguson, Ish Sodhi, and Mitchell Santner will have to lead the bowling effort for the visitors. India with their superior-looking squad would be the favorites but with New Zealand, if history is any indicator, you’re always in for a surprise.

India will have one eye on the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 this year as they get ready to play New Zealand in the home series. Shubman Gill has knocked on the door with some consistent performances and will be one to watch out for.

The NZ series will be a great opportunity to test the likes of Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav. Ishan Kishan continues to be part of the NZ vs IND ODI squad while KS Bharat comes in for KL Rahul. Shreyas Iyer has sustained a back injury and won’t be available for NZ vs IND ODIs. The All India Chairman Selection Panel has named Rajat Patidar as his replacement.

Another change is in the bowling department as Shardul Thakur comes in for Arshdeep Singh. Bengal bowling all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed has replaced Axar Patel from the Sri Lanka ODI squad in NZ vs IND ODIs. India seem to be going for their best players for this NZ vs IND series.

NZ vs IND:- India Predicted Playing XI:

Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj

There is no Trent Boult and Tim Southee and instead, Jacob Duffy, Blair Tickner, Henry Shipley, and Doug Bracewell have made it to the squad. Previously, Matt Henry suffered an injury due to which he was out for the Pakistan and India ODIs.  The absence of their star bowlers would give Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner, and Lockie Ferguson some added responsibility.

On the batting front, New Zealand have some promising names in their squad. Devon Conway and Finn Allen will be expected to give the team a good start.  Whereas, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham are crucial in the middle order. Glenn Phillips is a great asset lower down the order and can play the finisher’s role. Mark Chapman can be expected to come in for Kane Williamson.
