Abdul Razzaq can be dubbed as one of the best medium all-rounder for Pakistan to date. He was a bowling all-rounder who used to bat in the lower order and smack boundaries all over the park. He played for Pakistan from 1999 to 2013 and was one of the crucial members of the side in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Abdul Razzaq was a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pacer. He played over 250 ODI games and around 50 Tests in Pakistan during his International career. He also played some T20 games.
Abdul Razzaq was part of the Pakistan team that ended as runner UPS in 1999 Cricket World Cup he also played for the Pakistan side that won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2009 and Asia Cup in 2000.
Family and Personal Life
Abdul Razzaq was born in December 1979 in Lahore City of Punjab in Pakistan. The all-rounder married Ayesha and the couple has a son and a daughter. His son of Ali Razzaq is also a cricketer.
Early and Domestic Career
Abdul Razzaq made his break in the domestic team for Lahore in 1996. He played for the size side till 2007. He also played for Khan Research Laboratories and Pakistan International Airlines from 1997 to 1999 and 2001 to 2010 respectively.
Just after he entered into domestic circuit, Razzaq made his International debut for Pakistan. He also played for domestic teams in England.
International Career
Abdul Razzaq made his international debut in November 1996 in an ODI game against Zimbabwe. He played his last game in 2013 during a T20 match against South Africa. During his 17-year-long career, Abdul Razzaq played 46 Tests, 265 ODIs, and 32 T20Is.
He hit over 1900 + runs in Tests with 3 centuries and 7 half centuries. In ODIs, he hit over 5000 runs and slammed 23 half-centuries. He got 100 wickets in 46 Test games with the best bowling figures of 7 for 155. In T20, he got 20 wickets in 22 innings.
Franchise Career
Abdul Razzaq was also quite active in foreign franchise leagues. He played in the Big Bash League and Pakistan Super League. He was part of Melbourne Renegades for two seasons in the Big Bash League and Lahore Qalandars in his last PSL season in 2016.
