Jasprit Bumrah is an Indian cricketer who plays for Team India in international cricket. The right-arm pacer represents Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and Gujarat in the domestic circuit.

Bumrah is widely regarded as one of the best if not the best fast-bowler in the world at present. The India star has performed consistently for Team India as well as Mumbai Indians since making their debut for both teams. Here we are taking a look at Jasprit Bumrah's IPL career.

While Jasprit Bumrah has been playing in the IPL for more than a decade, he has represented just one team in the competition so far. The star pacer has been playing for Mumbai Indians since 2013.

Bumrah first grabbed the spotlight for his unorthodox bowling action as he left many surprised with his unique action. However, it did not take him long to impress the cricketing world with his performances.

His pace, line and length, and consistency made him one of the most sought-after fast-bowlers in the IPL soon after his debut.

The batters found it tough to attack him and most of them still struggle to play the big shots against Bumrah. Sharing the dressing room with the legendary Lasith Malinga also helped Bumrah develop a lethal yorker.

In his maiden IPL season, Bumrah played only 2 games and picked up 3 wickets including the big wicket of Virat Kohli.

He went on to play 11 games in his second season. Bumrah finally announced his arrival in the IPL in the 2016 season when he picked up 15 wickets in 14 games. In the same year, he also made his India debut.

Bumrah played a huge role with the ball when Mumbai Indians won the title in 2017. He picked up 20 wickets that season.

Bumrah has taken at least 15 wickets in a season since 2016. Bumrah enjoyed his best IPL season in 2020 when he picked up 27 wickets in 15 games while maintaining an economy rate of less than 7.

In IPL 2024 when almost all the bowlers were taken to the cleaners, Bumrah showed why he is regarded as the best T20 pacer in the world.

He not only picked up an impressive 20 wickets from 13 games but also maintained a brilliant economy rate of 6.48. Overall, Jasprit Bumrah's IPL wickets number stands at 165 from 133 games so far at a stunning economy rate of 7.3

Jasprit Bumrah's IPL auction price was only INR 10 lakh in 2013 when Mumbai Indians bought him at his base price.  In 2014, Bumrah received a contract worth INR 1.2 crore before getting a 7 crore contract in 2018. His last IPL contract was worth INR 12 crore.
