Jemimah Rodrigues is a powerful middle-order batter who has cemented her place in the India Women's national team. She is also termed a happy-go-lucky girl who also entertains fans during WPL tournaments. She is also quite active on social media and entertains her fans with funny videos.
Jemimah is a right-handed batter and right-arm spinner. However, she has only bowled on a few occasions and is mainly a middle-order batter. She has also played match-winning knocks for India Women on many occasions.
Early and Personal Life
Jemimah Rodrigues was born in September 2000 to parents Ivan Rodriques and Lavita Rodrigues. She was born and brought up in Mumbai City and grew up with her young brothers Enoch and Eli Rodrigues.
She was coached by her father in her childhood as his father was a cricket coach at her school. The right-handed batter completed her schooling at St. Joseph's Convent High School in Mumbai and later graduated from Rizvi College in Mumbai.
Domestic Career
Jemimah got her first break in her domestic career in 2013 when she was picked by Maharashtra U-19 team. Since 2014, she became a member of the Mumbai Team and also plays for the same team currently. After continuous hard work in the domestic circuit, Jemimah made her international debut in 2018.
International Career
The Mumbai player got her international break in February 2018; when she made his debut for India Women's team. She was picked in a T20I match against South Africa Women. One month later, she also made his ODI debut against the Australia Women's Team.
After five years in 2023, Jemimah also made her Test debut in a clash against England Women. So far, she has played 3 Tests, 30 ODIs, and a total of 96 ODIs for India Women's Team. He has mustered 2500-plus runs in international cricket and also accounts for 19 half-centuries.
Franchise Career
In the Women's Premier League, Jemimah Rodrigues has been part of Delhi Capitals since the debut season in 2023. The franchise bought her for a hefty price of Rs. 2.20 crore in the 2023 auction and retained her in the squad for the 2024 season.
In foreign franchise leagues, she is active in The Hundred and Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). She has represented Northern Superchargers in The Hundred since the debut edition in 2021. In WBBL, she has played for teams like Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars.
