MS Dhoni is an Indian cricketer who played for Team India in international cricket. He is a middle-order batsman and a wicketkeeper. In domestic cricket, Dhoni represented Jharkhand while in the Indian Premier League, the former India skipper plies his trade for Chennai Super Kings. Here we are taking a look at MS Dhoni's IPL career.

MS Dhoni's IPL Teams:
MS Dhoni has played for just two teams in the IPL so far - Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Supergiant. He played for Pune only when Chennai Super Kings were suspended for a couple of seasons - 2016 and 2017.
The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman's journey in the IPL began in 2008. MS Dhoni's first IPL team was Chennai Super Kings. In his first season, he led the Super Kings to the final before guiding them to the semifinal in 2009. Chennai Super Kings finally won the IPL under Dhoni's captaincy in 2010.
In 2011, Dhoni became the first captain in the history of IPL to win the tournament twice. When Chennai Super Kings were suspended in 2016, he joined Rising Pune Supergiant and led the team. However, he was sacked as the captain in 2017 as Steve Smith led Pune to the final. In 2018, Dhoni returned to Chennai Super Kings and led the franchise to tournament wins in 2018 and 2021.
In 2022, he handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja only to be re-appointed midway through the campaign as Jadeja struggled to do well. In 2023, Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to a record-equaling fifth IPL title before stepping down as the captain just before the 2024 season. He was replaced by Ruturaj Gaikwad as the captain.
